Definitely need to see the Paul Reubens doc now, it sounds amazing. And totally agree with your assessment of the Handmaid’s Tale finale, so looking forward to The Testaments. And that album, my god. Of course you love that album. I loved this whole piece, Kari. And no, it can’t rain forever, but spring is very late. Hugs from Cali. It was sunny here today for whatever good that does you 😬
I am off to the tropics tomorrow so I will be getting sun (I HOPE!). And thank you, I don't often do pop culture takes (so many people do those!) but I felt these things were connected for me. C&L is one of the greatest albums of all time!
I’m in New York too and yes, this weather is total bullshit! Don’t get me wrong, rain is good. Rain is necessary. Just not all day every day forever and ever.
I’m dying to see the end of HT and start the Paul Reuben’s doc. (Husfriend is traveling, patience is required for couple tv commitments)
Maybe I lean too hard into my Irish nature, but I like a dark conclusion, a sad ending. Not every time, but enough to remember that real life shit doesn’t tie up in a cute bow. Stop me before I start railing on Deus Ex Machina aka Lazy Endings For Dummies.
Go roll on that beach with a pina colada in each hand and forget life for as long as possible. As I had to go back to my house to put on tights and a sweater to run errands, I insist you soak up the sun until it’s medically irresponsible to continue. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
well, as you have now seen for yourself how pale I am, it is Medically Irresponsible for me to be in the sun (especially THAT sun) for more than like, 5 minutes. But we basically have a carry on of sunscreen and sun shirts for our pasty asses. 😂😂😂
And yes on the Irish pull towards the dark things. When everyone else was watching Fluffy Entertainment during COVID, I was into the Dark Sided shit. I hate tidy endings more than just about anything, especially when its Deux ex Machina style. Naw. Give me messy people making messy choices and then being like "well, its a mess, but here we are" vs some saccharine bullshit.

Hugs from the still gloomy East Coast...

We should trade movie recommendations. I sense we are made of the same messy material.
