Happy Friday everybody!
Uh, first of all, we just had…a fucking earthquake? In New York City? I was in my apartment working, minding my own business, and my bookshelves started rattling. My cats panicked. There was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake in Southern NJ, roughly 80 miles from here, and it sent some NOT SMALL seismic activity our way. Remember that in NYC, we don’t get earthquakes, so any earthquake feels big to us.
I did not have THAT on my 2024 bingo card. Everyone is safe, but my cats’ adrenal systems may never recover.
Anywhoodle! This post is to announce a new feature here on the ol’ Substack - voiceovers! I have one for my last post and one for my post The Cat Tree. Check it out, and please remember I am but a recovering actor who had nothing but Audacity, a mic I bought on Amazon, and determination. I’d love your feedback. Let me know if you enjoy it. The voiceovers are right at the top of the post. I’m going to try and get some more of them recorded over the weekend. We’ll see if my Dopamine Rat likes this long enough to do it more than once…
Have a great weekend!
When I heard about the earthquake I started too look for the closes plate. Really suprised that NY even got one, because the closest are in the Atlantic ocean. 😱
Hope you cat recover, give a lot of treats and hugs 😊
Yay for voiceovers! I don't use them all the time, but often I have zero interest in reading and REALLY want to know what's written. I also want to add them to my posts for that accessibility. (Haven't yet - see above dopamine related issue.)
